Designing for hospitals is not designing for a consumer app. Your users are on their feet, interrupted constantly, working on a shared machine with a keyboard and no mouse to speak of. Delight is not the goal. Not making a mistake at the end of a twelve-hour shift is the goal.
Own product design across the Nimbus platform: research with clinicians, flows, interface design and the design system. You will be the second designer, so you will help decide how design works here rather than inheriting a process.
Expect to spend real time in hospitals. The best insights we have had came from watching a nurse work around our software, not from a survey.
Three to six years designing complex software — enterprise, healthcare, logistics or similar. A portfolio that shows problems and outcomes rather than only screens. Fluency in Figma, including components and variants, and enough understanding of the front end to have a productive argument with an engineer about what is expensive.
Nimbus makes the software that runs mid-sized Indian hospitals: appointments, electronic records, pharmacy stock, insurance claims and discharge summaries. Around 140 hospitals across seven states use it every day.
Our users are nurses and front-desk staff on shared desktops and ageing Android tablets, often over an unreliable connection. That constraint shapes everything we build, from offline-first flows to small payloads to interfaces that survive being used at speed by someone at the end of a double shift.
We are a compact team in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, and we hire people who are comfortable sitting with clinicians to find out what they actually need.
