You will own the seller side of the marketplace: onboarding, catalogue quality, pricing tools and the seller dashboard. Around ninety thousand sellers use these surfaces, most of them small businesses running the whole operation from a phone.
A new seller currently takes eleven days from signup to first order, and roughly forty percent never get there. Most drop off at catalogue creation, which asks for information they do not have to hand in a format they find unfamiliar. Fixing that funnel is your first mandate, and you will have a squad of five engineers and a designer to do it with.
Four or more years in product management, with at least two spent on a product where you owned a number rather than a feature list. Marketplace or SMB experience is a strong plus.
We look hard at how you prioritise. Anyone can list twenty ideas; we want to hear why you killed seventeen of them and what evidence made you keep three.
Bharat Commerce Labs operates a marketplace and fulfilment network built for tier-2 and tier-3 cities. We handle catalogue, search, payments, returns and last-mile delivery for roughly eleven million monthly shoppers.
Scale is the interesting part of the job. A homepage change is measured against a hundred thousand sessions within the hour, and a slow query shows up in the conversion dashboard before anyone opens a monitoring tool. Teams run their own experiments and own their own numbers.
Our engineering centre is in Sector 44, Gurugram, with satellite teams in Bengaluru and Kolkata.
