The Bharat Commerce app is how most of our eleven million monthly shoppers reach us, and a large share of them are on entry-level devices with limited storage. App size, cold-start time and memory pressure are product metrics here, tracked on the same dashboard as conversion.
The shopping and checkout flows in native Kotlin: product listing, search, cart, address selection and payment. You will own experiments end to end, from the feature flag to reading the result, and you will be expected to argue against a change that helps a metric while making the app heavier for everyone.
We are progressively migrating screens to Jetpack Compose. Roughly half the app is migrated; you would work in both worlds for a while.
Three to six years of native Android development in Kotlin, released apps you can point to, and genuine attention to performance on cheap hardware. If you have profiled a cold start and cut it by a second, tell us that story in your application.
Bharat Commerce Labs operates a marketplace and fulfilment network built for tier-2 and tier-3 cities. We handle catalogue, search, payments, returns and last-mile delivery for roughly eleven million monthly shoppers.
Scale is the interesting part of the job. A homepage change is measured against a hundred thousand sessions within the hour, and a slow query shows up in the conversion dashboard before anyone opens a monitoring tool. Teams run their own experiments and own their own numbers.
Our engineering centre is in Sector 44, Gurugram, with satellite teams in Bengaluru and Kolkata.
