About the role

Straits Ledger is hiring a full stack developer in Singapore. You will own features end to end: the schema, the endpoint, the interface and whatever it takes to keep all three working afterwards. That breadth is the point of the role — nothing gets thrown over a wall, and nobody has to wait a sprint for another team to expose a field.

Singapore job advertisements quote a MONTHLY figure and this one follows that convention. The annual wage supplement and any performance bonus sit on top of the range below rather than inside it.

What the work actually looks like

Weeks vary. Some are mostly interface work with design, some are mostly data modelling and query tuning, and some are spent on the unglamorous seams in between. You will be trusted to decide where a piece of logic belongs and to say so when a requirement would make the system harder to change later. The team works a hybrid week out of Singapore, usually three days together and the rest wherever you work best.

What we look for

This is a mid-level role. You should already be able to take a loosely specified problem, break it down and ship it without close supervision. We are looking for someone who is genuinely comfortable on both sides rather than a specialist who tolerates the other one. You should be able to design a reasonable schema, write a component you would not mind maintaining, and deploy the result without needing a hand.

Working at Straits Ledger

We are an Employment Pass sponsor and will support a move for the right candidate; the team keeps Singapore hours with real flexibility around them. The range shown is a MONTHLY figure, which is how this market advertises salaries — it is not an annual number.

Responsibilities

  • Own features from database schema through API to finished interface
  • Write and review code across both the server and the client
  • Keep the deployment and migration path for your work boring and reversible
  • Break loosely specified problems into shippable pieces
  • Support what you ship, including the parts that fail at inconvenient hours

Requirements

  • Commercial experience on both a front-end framework and a server runtime
  • Comfortable designing schemas and reading a query plan
  • Familiar with modern deployment: containers, CI and environment configuration
  • Able to work from a rough brief rather than a finished specification
  • Clear written communication — much of the team is not in the room

Benefits

  • Monthly salary plus a performance bonus
  • Employment Pass sponsorship and relocation support
  • Comprehensive medical and dental cover
  • Hybrid working with flexible core hours
