About the role
Orbitpay moves money on behalf of merchants, so a regression is not an inconvenience, it is a failed collection and a support call. We are hiring our first dedicated QA engineer to build the automated safety net that lets a small team ship confidently.
What you will build
An API test suite that covers the collection lifecycle including the ugly paths: expired mandates, duplicate webhooks, bank timeouts and partial settlements. A browser suite in Playwright for the merchant dashboard. And, importantly, the sandbox and fixtures that make all of it possible to run locally in under two minutes.
You will also help decide what should not be automated. A brittle test that fails randomly costs more than the bug it might have caught.
What we look for
Two to five years in QA with real automation experience, ideally against APIs as well as user interfaces. You should be able to read the application code, write a precise reproduction, and hold your ground on a release decision when the evidence supports it.
Responsibilities
- Build and own the API and browser automation suites
- Design test data and sandbox fixtures for the collection lifecycle
- Wire tests into CI with fast, trustworthy feedback
- Triage failures to root cause rather than re-running them
- Advise on release readiness with evidence
Requirements
- 2-5 years in software QA with hands-on automation
- Experience with Playwright, Cypress or Selenium
- API testing skills and comfort with HTTP fundamentals
- Able to read JavaScript or TypeScript application code
- Precise, reproducible bug reporting
