About the role

Straits Ledger is hiring a QA engineer in Singapore. Quality here is an engineering job, not a gate at the end of one. You will build and own the automated suites that let the team release confidently, and you will still do the exploratory testing that automation is bad at.

Singapore job advertisements quote a MONTHLY figure and this one follows that convention. The annual wage supplement and any performance bonus sit on top of the range below rather than inside it.

What the work actually looks like

Expect a mix of writing end-to-end and API tests, keeping the suite fast and free of flakiness, and working with engineers on testability before a feature is built rather than after. When something reaches production broken, you lead the look at why the tests did not catch it. The role is on-site in Singapore, which is where the team and most of our customers are.

What we look for

This is a mid-level role. You should already be able to take a loosely specified problem, break it down and ship it without close supervision. We want someone who can read the application code, write a precise and reproducible bug report, and argue for the test that should exist rather than the twenty that should not. Experience wiring tests into CI is essential.

Working at Straits Ledger

We are an Employment Pass sponsor and will support a move for the right candidate; the team keeps Singapore hours with real flexibility around them. The range shown is a MONTHLY figure, which is how this market advertises salaries — it is not an annual number.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automated end-to-end and API test suites
  • Keep the suite fast and trustworthy — a flaky test is a broken test
  • Do exploratory testing on new features and edge cases
  • Work with engineers on testability during design, not after build
  • Own release verification and the follow-up when something slips through

Requirements

  • Experience with Playwright, Cypress or Selenium in a real pipeline
  • API testing and a working knowledge of HTTP and authentication
  • Able to read the application code well enough to localise a bug
  • Comfortable with CI configuration and test reporting
  • Precise, reproducible written bug reports

Skills

Benefits

  • Monthly salary plus a performance bonus
  • Employment Pass sponsorship and relocation support
  • Comprehensive medical and dental cover
  • Hybrid working with flexible core hours
