This role is remote by default. About a third of Sarvam engineering already works this way, so the processes are genuinely built for it rather than bolted on: written decisions, recorded demos and a four-hour overlap window instead of a calendar full of calls.
What you will build
The Sarvam learning app in React Native. Lesson downloads for offline study, the practice-test runner, streaks and reminders, and the video pipeline that has to work on a connection that vanishes in the middle of a chapter.
Offline is the central problem. A student downloads six lessons on the school wifi and studies at home with no data. Everything they do has to queue and sync later without duplicating progress or losing an answer.
What we look for
Two to five years with React Native and at least one app you took all the way to a store listing. You should understand what actually crosses the bridge and why a poorly designed list will stutter on a low-end device. Native Android or iOS experience alongside React Native is a real advantage when a module needs patching.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the React Native learning app for Android and iOS
- Own offline download, queueing and conflict-free progress sync
- Keep list and video performance smooth on entry-level devices
- Manage store releases, staged rollouts and crash triage
- Write things down, because the team is distributed
Requirements
- 2-5 years of React Native development
- Shipped at least one app to the Play Store or App Store
- Comfortable debugging native modules when needed
- Experience with offline storage and sync strategies
- Self-directed and clear in writing
