Every intern on our Pune platform team is paired with a senior engineer who reviews your pull requests personally, not through a queue.

How you will learn

The first fortnight is pairing. You read the contact-sync service, break it in a local environment, then fix it. After that you pull tickets from the same board as everyone else and defend your design in Thursday review. Questions are cheap here. Silent guessing is expensive.

The work itself

We run about a dozen small Spring Boot services behind an API gateway, and contact-sync is the one you will own a slice of. Over three months you will build a retry and dead-letter path for CRM imports that fail midway, add Micrometer counters so the on-call engineer can see where records are dropping, and split one bloated controller into something a new joiner can read. Java 17, Maven, JPA over MySQL, and Testcontainers for anything that talks to a database.

What we ask of you

You should be comfortable writing a class without an IDE generating most of it for you, and curious about what happens between an HTTP request arriving and a row appearing in a table. Final-year students and recent graduates are considered on equal footing.

Responsibilities

  • Own a slice of the contact-sync service and take tickets from the shared team board
  • Build a retry and dead-letter path for CRM imports that fail partway through
  • Add Micrometer metrics so on-call engineers can see exactly where records are dropped
  • Break one oversized controller into readable, independently testable components
  • Write Testcontainers-backed integration tests for anything that touches MySQL
  • Present your design in Thursday review and fold the feedback back into the code

Requirements

  • Final-year student or recent graduate; no professional experience expected
  • Working knowledge of Java and object-oriented fundamentals
  • Some exposure to Spring Boot, Express, Django or any other web framework
  • Willing to work a hybrid schedule from Pune with three days on site
  • Able to walk another engineer through your own code in a review

Skills

Benefits

  • Fixed monthly stipend with no deductions
  • A named mentor who personally reviews every pull request you raise
  • Conversion to a full-time junior role for strong performers
  • Completion certificate and a written LinkedIn recommendation
