Where you'll spend your time
Digital PR and link acquisition, mostly. Over six months you will find publications that already cover student careers and early hiring, pitch them something actually worth linking to, and build the outreach list yourself rather than buying one. Alongside that you will help produce two original data studies drawn from our own listings database, the kind of thing a journalist will cite without being asked twice, and then track which placements moved rankings and which merely looked impressive in a report.
We work asynchronously by default. You write a weekly update, we hold one overlapping call, and the rest of your schedule belongs to you. You will need to write clearly, chase politely, and keep a tracker honest even when the numbers are unflattering. If you have never done outreach before, that is expected. If a lot of people ignoring you would wreck your week, this one will be hard.
Responsibilities
- Build a qualified outreach list of sites covering student careers and early hiring
- Pitch editors and writers with a specific, relevant reason to link
- Co-produce two original data studies from our internal listings database
- Track every placement, its referring domain strength and its effect on rankings
- Run polite follow-up sequences without becoming a nuisance
- Maintain an honest outreach tracker with response and conversion rates
- Write a weekly asynchronous update for the growth team
Requirements
- Final-year student or recent graduate anywhere in the world, no experience needed
- Excellent written English and a polite but persistent tone
- Able to overlap at least two hours with IST for one weekly call
- Comfortable handling rejection and low reply rates for weeks at a time
- Basic spreadsheet skills for tracking and simple analysis
