Our operations team currently runs on a spreadsheet with eleven tabs and a colour code that only two people understand. Replacing it with something usable is a sharp two month project, and it is yours.
The build
You will create an internal dashboard where the ops team can approve employer accounts, flag suspicious job posts, and see how many applications went out yesterday. Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript on top of an existing REST API, with no framework unless you can argue convincingly for one. Charts come from a small charting library rather than anything hand rolled.
Constraints worth knowing about
Internal tools have an unusual advantage: your users sit two desks away and will tell you the moment something annoys them. They also carry an unusual constraint, which is that they need it working now rather than perfect later. You will learn to ship the version that helps today and improve it on Monday.
Practicalities
Two months, hybrid from our Bengaluru office with three days on site, and a demo to the operations team at the end of every week. A good fit if you have built small things before and want to find out what changes when real people depend on them daily.
Responsibilities
- Build an internal dashboard for employer account approvals and job post moderation
- Render daily application volume using a lightweight charting library
- Consume existing REST endpoints and handle their pagination and rate limits
- Add the keyboard shortcuts and bulk actions the ops team asks for
- Demo the current build to the operations team every Friday
- Write a short handover document so the tool outlives your internship
Requirements
- Final year student or recent graduate, no professional experience expected
- Can build interactive pages with HTML, CSS and JavaScript without a framework
- Comfortable asking non technical colleagues what they actually need
- Available for three on site days a week in Bengaluru across two months
