Tests that actually catch things

Our frontend sits at 41 percent test coverage and has a habit of breaking the checkout flow on Fridays. Over six months you will change both of those facts.

The work itself

You write component tests with Vitest and React Testing Library, starting with the flows that hurt most when they break: sign up, payment, and the campaign send confirmation. Above that layer you will build a Playwright suite covering four critical user journeys, wire it into GitHub Actions, and set up a flake tracker so nobody starts ignoring red builds. Along the way you will refactor components that resist testing, which is almost always a sign they are doing too much.

What six months buys you

Testing is the skill most fresher portfolios are missing, and it is the one that makes senior engineers trust you quickly. You will leave able to argue about what deserves a test and what does not, which is rarer and more valuable than writing the test itself. Our Andheri office runs a hybrid week of three days in and two out, and your mentor sits two desks away for the days you are there.

Responsibilities

  • Write component tests with Vitest and React Testing Library for the sign up flow
  • Cover the payment and campaign send confirmation screens with regression tests
  • Build a Playwright suite for four critical end to end user journeys
  • Wire the suite into GitHub Actions with sensible parallelism and reporting
  • Track and report flaky tests so a red build still means something
  • Refactor components that resist testing because they carry too many concerns
  • Raise coverage on the checkout path well above its current level

Requirements

  • Final-year student or recent graduate; no professional experience needed
  • Understand the React component lifecycle well enough to know what to assert
  • Have written at least a few tests in any language or framework
  • Patience for debugging failures that only reproduce in CI
  • Available for three office days a week in Andheri

Skills

Benefits

  • Monthly stipend across all six months
  • Mentor seated in the same room for immediate feedback
  • Certificate and a reference letter describing what you actually built
  • Priority consideration for full-time frontend openings
