The brief
Our public API is how agencies push subscriber lists into the platform, and it is missing a proper bulk import route. Over three months, working fully remotely from anywhere in India, you will build it: request validation, an idempotency key so a retried upload does not duplicate ten thousand contacts, paginated status polling, and an OpenAPI spec a stranger can read without asking us anything.
Tools and habits
Java 17 and Spring Boot on the service side, JPA over MySQL underneath, Maven for builds, JUnit and MockMvc for the tests you write before anything merges. You will also learn to write a changelog entry a support agent can understand, which is a skill nobody teaches in college.
Working remotely, and who fits
Standup is ten minutes on video each morning and the rest of the day is yours to plan. We care that your branch moves, not that a status light stays green. You should be a final-year student or recent graduate with some Java, some SQL, and the patience to read an error message twice before asking.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship a bulk subscriber import endpoint on our public API
- Implement idempotency keys so a retried upload never duplicates records
- Add cursor pagination and a status polling route for long-running imports
- Keep the OpenAPI specification accurate enough for external developers to work from
- Write MockMvc and JUnit tests before code goes up for review
- Draft the changelog entries that support agents and customers read
Requirements
- Final-year student or recent graduate, no work experience required
- Java fundamentals plus a basic grasp of HTTP verbs and status codes
- Comfortable reading and writing SQL against a relational database
- Reliable internet and availability for a short daily video standup
