One project, start to finish
Two months is short, so this placement has exactly one deliverable: a working internal tool, built by you, used by our operations team afterwards. The brief is a listing moderation console, and you will build it from our Bengaluru office next to the people who will use it. Moderation currently happens in a spreadsheet and a shared inbox. You will replace both with a React interface that queues flagged listings, shows employer history beside each one, and lets a moderator approve, reject with a reason, or escalate. Behind it sits an Express API, a small Mongoose model for moderation actions, and an audit trail we can query later. Deployment is on Render and you will do it yourself.
The arrangement
This is an unpaid placement, offered on those terms because we would rather be upfront than pretend. You get a mentor, daily access to the operations team so requirements come from the people who need them, and a finished product with your name on the first commit. Interns who deliver here are shortlisted first for our paid intakes.
Responsibilities
- Gather requirements directly from the operations team who will use the tool
- Build the React moderation queue with filtering, keyboard shortcuts and bulk actions
- Model moderation actions and an audit trail in MongoDB with Mongoose
- Write the Express API for the approve, reject with reason and escalate flows
- Deploy the application to Render and hand over a short runbook
- Sit with a moderator for an hour and fix whatever annoys them most
Requirements
- Student or recent graduate with no professional experience
- You have built and deployed at least one full stack project, even a simple one
- Working React knowledge including state and conditional rendering
- Able to attend our Bengaluru office on a hybrid schedule for two months
- Happy to talk to non technical colleagues about what they need
