The half nobody teaches

Plenty of graduates can build a MERN application. Far fewer can put one in front of users and keep it there. This two month remote internship is about the second half of the job: environments, pipelines, logs and the unglamorous work that decides whether a feature ever reaches anyone.

Your two months

You will containerise our Express API with Docker, replace the manual deploy script with a GitHub Actions pipeline that runs tests and ships to staging on merge, and set up preview environments so a reviewer can click a link instead of pulling a branch. On the frontend you will move our React build to Vite, cut the bundle with route level code splitting, and wire up error reporting so a production crash reaches Slack with a stack trace instead of dying silently.

What you should expect

Some days you will fix a broken pipeline instead of writing features, and that is genuinely the job. You will pair with our platform engineer twice a week, keep a written log of every incident you touch, and leave understanding what happens between git push and a page loading for a stranger.
