A jobseeker opens the MailerMen site twice a week. They open our emails five times. The job alert digest, the application status update and the weekly startup roundup are the product for a large share of our users, and they were built by engineers in a hurry.
Over six months you will rebuild the entire transactional and lifecycle email set. That begins with a layout grid that survives Outlook, Gmail clipping at 102KB, and dark mode inversion on iOS, three constraints that will shape almost every decision you make. You will design the digest template so a list of nine jobs scans in four seconds, rework the status emails around a single clear next action, and build a component kit in Figma that marketing can assemble campaigns from without asking a designer.
In product notification patterns come next: the bell menu, the toast rules, and the badge logic that decides what is worth interrupting someone for.
Hybrid from our Mumbai office, three days in. You work with the lifecycle marketing lead and the backend engineer who owns sending. Open and click through numbers reach you weekly, so you find out fast whether a decision worked.
MailerMen runs a verified job board covering startup and product roles across twelve markets, and takes on interns across engineering, data, design and marketing to build it.
