Our site has grown past nine thousand indexed URLs and a fair number of them have no business being indexed at all. Duplicate job pages, expired listings still returning 200, pagination that quietly confuses crawlers. This six-month internship exists to clean that up and then keep it clean.
You begin with a full Screaming Frog crawl and turn it into a prioritised fix list rather than a spreadsheet nobody opens. From there you work through canonical tags, the sitemap generator, redirect chains left behind by an old domain migration, and the Core Web Vitals scores on our job detail template, where one heavy third party script is currently costing us close to a second of LCP.
Once the foundations hold you move to structured data. Every listing needs valid JobPosting schema, and you own the validation loop between the backend team and Search Console. You will also design the monthly technical health report the wider marketing team actually reads.
You should be able to read HTML and open browser dev tools without panic. You do not need to write production code, though the engineers will explain anything you ask about. Everything runs remotely on written updates.
MailerMen runs a verified job board covering startup and product roles across twelve markets, and takes on interns across engineering, data, design and marketing to build it.
