Loading this job…
Every merge into main at MailerMen fires a chain of GitHub Actions workflows that lint, test, build and ship the job board to production. It works, but it takes eleven minutes and nobody has touched the caching strategy since it was written. Over six months you will own that pipeline, cut its runtime, and add the checks the team keeps asking for.
You will start by mapping the existing workflows, then split the monolithic build job into reusable composite actions. After that you will introduce dependency caching, matrix builds across Node versions, and a preview deployment for every pull request so reviewers can click a link instead of pulling a branch. Later in the internship you will add a release workflow that tags versions, generates changelogs and pushes signed Docker images to our registry.
You should be comfortable in a terminal, curious about why a build is slow, and willing to read a workflow log line by line until you find the answer. We do not expect you to have run production infrastructure before. We do expect you to ask questions in the open channel rather than getting stuck quietly for two days.
MailerMen runs a verified job board covering startup and product roles across twelve markets, and takes on interns across engineering, data, design and marketing to build it.
