Every email MailerMen sends passes through a queue before it reaches a mailbox. BullMQ workers running on Node.js handle retries, bounce processing and scheduled sends, and when they fall behind, customers notice within minutes. Over three months you join the two engineers who keep that machinery honest.
You will add a dead letter queue with a small admin endpoint for replaying failed jobs, instrument worker throughput so backlogs become visible before a customer emails us about one, and move subscriber segment lookups behind Redis with an invalidation rule you can defend. Expect to spend real time reasoning about idempotency, because a retried job that sends a second email is worse than one that sends none at all.
Anyone in a final year or freshly graduated who has built something asynchronous, even a hobby scraper with a job queue behind it. Bring working Node.js knowledge and the habit of reading library source when the documentation runs out. You will be in the Hyderabad office three days a week, and your mentor writes detailed review comments rather than approving quietly and moving on.
MailerMen runs a verified job board covering startup and product roles across twelve markets, and takes on interns across engineering, data, design and marketing to build it.
