CI/CD Engineering Intern - GitHub Actions

Every pull request here fires off roughly forty minutes of CI, and shrinking that number is the problem you are joining to attack. This three month internship is fully remote within India and sits with the developer experience group.

Your first month

You will map where the time actually goes across our GitHub Actions workflows, then start cutting: dependency caching, matrix jobs that run in parallel instead of series, and container layers that stop rebuilding for a one line README change. Expect to read a great deal of YAML and even more log output.

After that

You will build reusable composite actions so twenty repositories stop copy pasting the same lint and test blocks. You will configure required status checks, set up automated release tagging, and write the runbook explaining what to do when a workflow starts failing at 2am for reasons nobody understands yet.

What you bring

Comfort with Git beyond commit and push, some scripting in Bash or Python, and enough Docker knowledge to explain what a layer is. You should be finishing a degree or fresh out of one. Nobody here expects a job history.

We run weekly video pairing, review everything you write, and end with a demo where you present the before and after numbers to the engineering team.
