Employers keep asking us one thing we currently answer badly: is my listing working? Over three months you will build the dashboard that answers it, working from our Mumbai office on a hybrid schedule with one backend engineer and one designer.
On the server you will roll raw events, listing views, apply clicks and completed applications, into daily summary documents in their own MongoDB collection so the dashboard never queries the raw events directly. On the client you will build the React views: a funnel from view to application, a comparison against the median for that job category, and the CSV export finance keeps asking for. A scheduled Node.js job will email each employer a Monday morning digest.
Numbers on a screen are easy. Numbers that agree with each other across three different views are not. A good share of your time goes into reconciling counts, deciding what a unique view actually means, and writing tests that stop the figures drifting later. You will present the finished dashboard to the sales team, who will not be gentle about it.
MailerMen runs a verified job board covering startup and product roles across twelve markets, and takes on interns across engineering, data, design and marketing to build it.
