Our careers blog runs on WordPress and pulls in more organic traffic than the product does, which is either embarrassing or an opportunity depending on who you ask. You will treat it as an opportunity.
You will build and maintain landing pages and blog templates: a custom post type for company profiles, a comparison table block that editors can fill in without touching code, and a cleanup of theme CSS that has collected four years of quick fixes. You will also make the site noticeably faster by auditing plugins and lazy loading everything below the fold.
This internship is unpaid and remote, runs for two months, and asks for roughly twenty hours a week. It suits a student who wants a real content site to practise on and a solid reference at the end. We would rather you know that clearly before you apply than discover it later.
CMS work is unglamorous and extremely employable. Agencies and small product teams hire for it constantly. You will finish able to take a design, build a theme template, keep it accessible, and hand it to a non technical editor who will not break it.
MailerMen runs a verified job board covering startup and product roles across twelve markets, and takes on interns across engineering, data, design and marketing to build it.
