Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Power BI, SQL, data modeling, DAX, and data visualization.
The candidate will work with business stakeholders and data teams to understand requirements and convert business data into meaningful dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
- Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
- Develop optimized data models using Power BI.
- Write complex DAX measures and calculated columns.
- Develop data transformation processes using Power Query / M.
- Connect Power BI to multiple data sources including SQL Server, Excel, APIs, Azure, and cloud platforms.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries.
- Build and maintain ETL/data transformation processes.
- Implement Power BI security, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
- Publish, manage, and maintain reports and dashboards in Power BI Service.
- Configure scheduled refreshes, gateways, workspaces, apps, and deployment pipelines.
- Monitor report performance and optimize dashboards, DAX, and data models.
- Collaborate with business users, data engineers, and technical teams.
- Troubleshoot data, refresh, performance, and report-related issues.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow BI development best practices.
Required Skills
- 4–7 years of experience in Power BI / Business Intelligence.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Excellent knowledge of DAX.
- Strong experience in Power Query and M language.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL Server and SQL queries.
- Experience working with multiple data sources.
- Experience creating complex dashboards and interactive visualizations.
- Knowledge of Power BI security, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
- Experience with Power BI Gateway, scheduled refresh, workspaces, and deployment.
- Good understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts.
Good to Have
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics / Microsoft Fabric.
- Knowledge of Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps.
- Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, or other Microsoft BI technologies.
- Experience with Python for data analysis.
- Experience working with large datasets and Power BI performance optimization.
- Microsoft Power BI certification such as PL-300.

Education
