Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled SAP MII SME to lead the design, implementation, and support of manufacturing integration and shop-floor connectivity solutions.

The role requires expertise in SAP MII, SAP ME, plant systems integration, and real-time manufacturing analytics. The candidate will act as a technical and functional expert, bridging the gap between plant systems, MES, and SAP ERP/S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP MII Solution Design & Architecture

• Design end-to-end SAP MII architectures for manufacturing environments.
• Define integration patterns between:
• SAP ERP / S/4HANA
• SAP ME / MES systems
• Shop-floor systems such as PLC and SCADA
• Develop scalable and robust plant integration frameworks.

1. Implementation & Development

• Develop and configure SAP MII components, including:
• Transactions
• iFlows
• BLS (Business Logic Services)
• OData/Web Services integrations
• Build dashboards, KPIs, and analytical views.
• Enable real-time data capture and visualization.

1. Integration & Connectivity

• Integrate SAP MII with:
• SAP ME / SAP Digital Manufacturing
• Third-party MES systems
• IoT platforms and industrial devices
• Implement integration protocols and technologies, including:
• OPC UA
• PCo (Plant Connectivity)
• Web Services / REST APIs

1. Shop-Floor & Manufacturing Integration

• Enable plant data collection and traceability.
• Support manufacturing use cases such as:
• Production tracking
• Equipment monitoring (OEE)
• Quality management
• Ensure seamless shop-floor to top-floor integration.

1. Data Modeling & Analytics

• Design real-time data models for:
• Production KPIs
• Operational dashboards
• Integrate with:
• SAP BW / HANA
• SAP Analytics Cloud / Power BI
• Deliver actionable insights for manufacturing operations.

1. Performance Optimization & Support

• Optimize MII transactions and queries.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and bottlenecks.
• Provide L2/L3 support for MII/ME environments.

1. Governance & Best Practices

• Define coding standards and development guidelines.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain documentation for solutions and integrations.

1. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work with business teams across manufacturing, operations, and IT.
• Translate plant requirements into SAP MII solutions.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements.

Required Skills

Core SAP Expertise

• Strong experience in SAP MII.
• Knowledge of SAP ME / SAP Digital Manufacturing (DM).
• Understanding of SAP S/4HANA integration.

Technical Skills

• SAP MII development:
• BLS Transactions
• iFlows
• Query Templates
• SAP PCo (Plant Connectivity).
• Web Services:
• REST/SOAP
• OData

Manufacturing Domain Knowledge

• MES concepts.
• Shop-floor operations.
• Production processes and workflows.
• OEE, quality, and traceability.

Integration & Tools

• OPC UA / Industrial protocols.
• IoT integration concepts.
• Experience with databases:
• SQL
• HANA

Programming – Preferred

• JavaScript for MII UI components.
• SQL.
• Basic Java knowledge is nice to have.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP certifications in MII/ME or Digital Manufacturing.
• Experience with:
• SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform)
• SAP IoT / Industry 4.0 solutions
• Exposure to cloud-based MES or smart factory initiatives.

Experience Required

• 8+ years of total experience.
• 5+ years in SAP MII / manufacturing integration roles.
• Experience in end-to-end implementation projects.
